Famous Authentic Veg Dish: Dal Makhani

Dal Makhani is a famous staple that originates from the northern part of India especially Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh . This veg dish has made a name for itself not only in India but also at a global level because of its smooth and buttery flavour.
It is usually made out of Dal (constitutes boiled lentils) and other legumes or pulses. Coupled with roti, naan, chapatti, parantha and rice; Dal Makhni basically adds an aromatic, flavourful side dish to almost all Indian bread-dishes. As dals are extremely rich in protein and carbohydrates, Dal Makhni also plays a good part in providing a healthy alternative to more spicy and richer Indian dishes.
